All officers who have to comply with the requirements of the STCW Code must have their GMDSS Certificate endorsed by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

To obtain an STCW endorsement you must return a completed STCW Application Form (MSF 4354 rev 08/12) together with the following documentation to the Maritime Coastguard Agency:


Note: You must submit the original GMDSS certificate. Photocopies of other documents are accepted, however they must have been attested to as being true copies of the original by a solicitor, issuing administration, Notary Public, or by an authorised MCA official.

There is no fee charged by the MCA for the issue of endorsements, but should you wish the endorsed certificate to be returned by courier, please include a payment of £20.00 to cover this together with a contact telephone number.
