Format of Examinations
UK GMDSS Examinations all have theory and practical elements.
The theory is normally covered by means of written examinations taking the
form of either long written answers or multiple choice selections depending
on the particular examination.
The practical examinations involve performing a range of tasks on items of marine communications equipment as required by the examiner. The tasks are based on the normal operations you would need to perform when using the equipment at sea.
Examination Administration Handbook
The AMERC Examination Administration Handbook (file size: > 500 kB) contains information about examination procedures, equipment lists, adminstration arrangements and copies of examination syllabii.
